From the depths of the Los Angeles underground arises URBAN ASSAULT set to rip the wool veil from your eyes . Influencing conscious thought through hardcore street rock by stirring senses and challenging perspectives. Jarring beats laced with unabated lyrical substance form an indelible sound. This is a unifying movement in music which is a call to all who refuse to be misled.
This 6 piece crew combines aggressive rock anthems with intense lyrical schemes, topped with twisted loops mixed into one furious, fist-in-your-face power-driven package. The entire repertoire bleeds energy making it an invigorating live show. URBAN ASSAULT originally started as a project from various members of other bands ("Hydrophonix", "Weedeater", "Dim Tribe" and the European "CanItrashcan!?") but soon it developed it's own dynamic. With a draw of more than a 150 people to their first show at the Whisky in Hollywood, URBAN ASSAULT is ready to roll out nationwide. Each man brings talent and integrity in every move they make. The musical influences of the band members couldn't be more diverse: Reaching from the drummer Angelo's favorite heavy metal records to bass player Jesse’s hip hop connection, via the Guitarist Marko's affinity for bands such as "Bad Brains,” "Fugazi," and "The Melvins” all the way to the jazzy soul-rap influence of their Brasilian born vocalist J Theory, and grounded by the west coast power vocals from JKS. LA’s own DJ Shiro collaborated with his higher level usage of air, fire, water, and intellect to connect and open up new dimensions in concert with galaxies and a new universe yet to be created by the Assault. Be prepared for a furious live show overflowing with energy. Be prepared to have the truth and knowledge that is being suppressed, oppressed, and repressed in these days of war rocked out. Find it in yourself to gather strength, resilience, and a passion to rise against.
