| About UrbanFlow |
Together since September 2005, UrbanFlow result from an occasional gathering among four friends that, after some musical projects, found in the performing room the sound that they want to create for a long time. Quickly Ruben Mad (vocals), Paulo Silva (guitars), Rui Cruz (bass), and Tiago Almeida (drums) felt that the music’s they produced had potential. Influenced by the alternative rock, soul & funk of the 90’s, UrbanFlow sings in English the experiences that people easily identify in their own live.
Between the performance room and the music studio, this band from Matosinhos, gave shape to their compositions, which tested live, became innovator and efficient. The public reactions gave UrbanFlow more strength, and since there they’ve composed new stuff thinking in the first album of the band. The EP “On Solid Ground” was recorded, produced and mastered at WavEstudio (Paulo Silva’s playground), it has four of the music’s of Urban’s repertoire, and it’s a good example of this musician’s potential.
“More than a band, more than a project, this music’s are us. Without censure. Without commitments. Just UrbanFlow”, they say.
In the end of 2007, Urbanflow needed to change their lead singer. And a new member enter the band.
The process would start all over again, and all the music and material would have to be changed. The band started to record the new EP in the beggining of 2008, hopping it would be the year of change!
