A born native of Chicago, Shannon Harris has programmed music for the public for over 20 years. Starting off as a local DJ and later on becoming a radio personality/host. He has toured all over North American, Asia and the UAE. Since the past 10 years Shannon has focused on expressing himself in a more creative fashion within music where he began to dabble into song composition and production. He started his label “Urbanicity” in 1999 featuring some of Chicago’s greatest talents. In fact he has worked with as many as 20 plus artists on one album and is coined as the modern day “Quincy Jones” of Chicago. His big soulful cinematic productions and elaborate studio projects have set him apart from the a-typical “producer” of today. Working on his own productions in the largest studio in the Midwest, the Chicago Recording Company, he had a chance to witness true authentic engineering from some of the best in the industry. Shannon’s discography is so diverse in genre’s that he hasn’t been dubbed with a particular sound but does have a stylistic way of making huge productions come to life. His resume includes working on projects with Frankie Valentine, Anthony Nicholson, and also being featured on a remix project with Larry Heard, Ron Trent, Quentin Harris, IG Culture and John Ciafone. In 2008 Shannon got commissioned to composed and perform 23 short film scores for the Chicago Cinema Forum series “Magic In Cinema”. Writing original musical material for films by legendary film producers Georges Melies, Edwin S. Porter, and R W Paul he is constantly moving into cinema, visual media and commercial productions. Harris also released the first of many documentaries entitled “Urbanicity the Movement” in 2008 debuting original music, voice over and visuals all produced and directed by himself. As an artist who has no limits he believes in bringing any vision into reality no matter the expense and/or time spent on a project. “The end result is what matters” states Harris. Look out for his work on Urbanicity, other labels, in cinema and commercials in the near future.

music? like vinyl? i havent heard too much authentic Italian musica, they listen to the same shit as over there...or it sounds damn near the same. However, there are some musicians that walk around the piazzas playing accordians, it sounds lovely! Went to a flamenco performance last night, it was soo beautiful i almost busted one!! haha! i am taking mad pics, tomorrow im going to Bologna, saturday to Rivenna :) ciao bello!
