Urban Myth is a new label that aims to bring obscure disco gems into the 21st century. Urban Myth takes undiscovered breaks and moulds them into something between the sounds of then and the sounds of now.
The next release for Urban Myth features two red hot edits from Tugg with Urban Myth's trademark rejuvenation of some classic disco joints.
'The System' is already receiving great responses from dancefloors across the world getting plays from the likes of Phase Action and Felix Dickinson. This 80's classic gets beefed up with some tough drums, and extra effects.
On the flip we have another track that will sound familiar, but 'you ain't never heard it like thiiiis!' extra key's from Urban Myth's own Xavier Zubercock trips this version out to make a fresh new mix that will be a welcome addition to all lovers of the original.
Both sides are also backed with sirens, jet planes and effects that will become invaluable tools to all D.J's wanting to trick out their sets.
The last release on Urban Myth was another slice of Disco madness from Das Etwas.
'So Deep' is fresh Jackin' Disco, with some screaming vocals that are guaranteed to knock the floor down like bowling pins, as Maurice Fulton said on first hearing it 'If you were a dj terrorist, you could blow up any club with this one'.
'Go Ahead' is also of the jackin disco variety, but a more spaced out instrumental flavour.
And if that wasnt enough both sides are backed up with accapellas, sirens and sound effects that any D.J will find essential.
On the second release Gloria Gaynor got the edit treatment she duly deserves from Templeton Peck. She's been stripped down, spliced up and dubbed out to create 'Glory Hole'. Allready Templeton Pecks 'Glory Hole' has been getting hammered by Greg Wilson (king of the retro beat), and is sure get everyones ass movin' !
Side B Borrows from Ronnie Laws 'Heavy on Easy' with the tribute 'Lawless'. This epic boogie monster ups the tempo with twists of funk, shimmering uplifting synths and added dubness and clubness.
The first release, also from Das Etwas, borrows from Johnson and Youngbloods The Funk Is In The Music to create a dubbed out instrumental that stands up well next to the original, but also fits into the nudisco bags of many house D.Js.
The other side takes a break from the end of GQs Make My Dream A Reality, and turns it into a heavy disco workout with Moodymanesque intro and outros and extra sweeping synths and effects, with devastating dancefloor results.
