About me:

My interest in photography started in my teens and I always had a little camera to hand to take snaps of my friends. I attended Leeds College of Art and Design to study Photomedia and while at college I was never without my SLR attached to my face and could usually be spotted taking photographs of local bands and clubbers at the Cockpit, The Duchess and various other places in Leeds.

Now 10 years later, I still have a passion for photography and I am currently trying to build a new portfolio and to develop new skills. I will also starting an advanced digital course in September to refresh my knowledge.

My thoughts on producing a strong image are simple, no matter how good your equipment or your technical expertise, if you don't keep your eyes open you are never going to get a good photograph. I am an advocate of digital enhancement of images, such as using Photoshop and other tools to get the best from an photograph in terms of colour and tone, but I do not bastardise beauty and will not manipulate and airbrush anyone’s features or form.

My photography style is not to everyone’s taste, as I love to produce graphic images rather than traditional photographs. I like using high and low key techniques, HDR (High dynamic range photography) and extremes of contrast to produce almost a chiaroscuro type of effect.

In return for a models/bands time, I can provide a disk of the shoot (I usually take about 100+ images per shoot), also a small selection of finished images on the CD, for you to do with what you like.

The types of images I would like to take are anything from Gothic, Pin Up & Boudoir, Fetish, Urban & Scene, Fashion and Portrait, Alternative Wedding, Kooky Kids, Tattooed/Alternative Mums to Be, Bands & Musicians.

I use a Nikon and a bridge to test shoot at present, a kit that I am always trying to build on. I have a small home studio set up (simple but effective) which is located in Leeds City Centre and I am also happy to travel to locations in and around Leeds for shoots.
