Mission: Urban Pulse Magazine targets active educated young adults in the South Georgia area. UP Magazine is a general interest lifestyle magazine for all residence. Each issue features stories on entertainment, lifestyle, fashion, nightlife and much more. Our mission is to enlighten, entertain, educate, and engage our readers from cover to cover every single issue. Why The Name Urban Pulse? Welcome to Urban Pulse Magazine. I’m very excited about the possibilities of what this publication can be for the residents of South Georgia. But before we get into what the publication is, let me explain the name Urban Pulse. When coming up with a name, I wanted something progressive and fresh that appealed to a broad audience. Now some people I’ve encountered have a narrow understanding of the word “Urban” – which is really no understanding at all. When looking up the word Urban in the dictionary, you find that the word refers to a densely populated area where people live together, “Characteristic of the city or city life.” Eight Popes were also named Urban – just a side note. So other than “Big” city living and eight Popes, there are no other references to the word Urban. As for the word pulse, you have to have a pulse in order to be alive. So there you have it, our paper simply means “City that’s Alive” – Urban Pulse. How can you help make Urban Pulse successful? Simple. If you are a group or organization and you’re having an event, send us an e-mail telling us about the event and we’ll include it in the calendar. Another way to help make this publication successful is by patronizing the businesses that support this publication through their advertising dollars.
