| About URBAN REJECTS |

The URBAN REJECTS are here for the love of Oi! They keep it simple, they keep it clear. Call it Street Punk, if you like, but don't expect anything fancy. Rather expect some real in-your-face A.G.G.R.O.!
It was their old love for the brittish Oi! classics that led Andreas (vocals) and Steve Aggro (guitar) to the idea of bringing right this sound back to life. Partners in crime were soon found with Mocki (bass) and Karsten (drums). The guys have all been playing in other bands from Aachen and Mönchengladbach for years, for example DOWN THE DRAIN or the legendary BOVVER BOYS. So actually it's all old bones in a new band. What once started out as a side-project without any expectations eventually became the band URBAN REJECTS.
After the first show in April 2005 they played every show they could and were well received by the audience. So far, they played together with bands like The Generators, Evil Conduct, The Templars, Stomper 98, Kings Of Nuthin, Lokalmatadore or Volxsturm. The URBAN REJECTS also played some festivals like Punk & Disorderly 2006 & 2007, Sound Of The Suburbs 2006 or Endless Summer 2006. In October 2007 they were lucky to support Red Alert on an extended Germany tour.
You can call it musical narrow-mindedness, but the URBAN REJECTS try to let the music only be influenced by the aggressive and simple sound of the early eighties Oi! bands in England, like THE 4-SKINS, THE LAST RESORT, THE EJECTED or THE OPPRESSED. Of course, other bands like the ANTI-HEROS or BONECRUSHER left some marks on their sound, too. But still they play neither Folk- nor Ska-Punk, no Rancid-rip-off hype sound - just plain and pure A.G.G.R.O.!
So their slogan "Back To The Boots" isn't an advice for your next shoe shopping but the musical and lyrical program of the URBAN REJECTS. Sure, Thatcher's England is burried deep in the past and times have changed a lot since '82. But this 'Wonderful World' of ours hasn't got a less depressing place since then. Politicians are still the corrupt pigs they always were. Again there's millions on the dole, hopeless and frustrated. The kids on the streets still have nowhere to turn to. The URBAN REJECTS have no political agenda, but yet they are a mouthpiece for those kids. They're not another retro band, their anger is real.
In November 2005 they released 5 songs on a split-CD with american Punkabillies GENUINE RUST on Sunny Bastards. By popular demand the URBAN REJECTS material off that CD was re-released as a limited Vinyl 7" E.P. in December 2006 on Randale Records. By the way, the song "Summer of Hate" also appears on the "Kick it with boots" compilation and was mentioned in Germany's biggest news mag "Stern" in a huge article about hooligans at the Football World Cup 2006 in Germany.
On October 26th 2007 the first URBAN REJECTS full-length album was released with 12 new songs, including one 4-Skins cover. The CD was released on Sunny Bastards again. The vinyl LP on Randale Records comes in a neat gatefold cover and is limited to 600 copies. First 100 copies in clear vinyl are available exclusively through randaleshop.de!
Besides writing more songs, the boys will continue playing as many shows as possible. If you're interested in inviting them to play, just get in touch. As experienced members in a touring band the URBAN REJECTS are affordable and easy to deal with.
