Urban Street Level (USL) is a high energy, up tempo contemporary music group thats objective is to engage audiences where ever they perform and minister in worship and praise. Excitement, Authenticity and Anointing are the trademarks USL
USL was started in 1991 with a vision of Elwood Jones to reach primarily teens all over the United States and in foreign countries. The purpose was clear for doing this type of ministry as a result of observing teens in urban communities being disconnected from God. Churches and Communities seem to have lacked excellence in reaching teens and for the most part appeared ineffective musically and non-relevant in its presentation of the gospel. Simply put Elwood found youth bored with the things of God. God appeared weak to teens.
It was that frustration that formed the group with a vision to evangelize Urban America with Hip-Hop, R&B and a Jazzy sound.
USL primary primary objective was first to evangelize and second to worship and praise in a contemporary style that would be appealing to a young person.
USL got National attention thru a series of articles in CCM Magazine, Release Magazine, Heavens Hip Hop, CMN Distribution and worship Magazine. It was the printed media and the Grammy and Dove award winning producer Tedd T. that gave the group instead credibility and radio airplay.
One of USL main core values is to see all people groups be engaged in worship no matter the race or color.
USL has altered its vision over the past 7 years to focus more on Worship and Praise and a lesser role in evangelism.
USL believes there is no higher call than to give God worship. (God is looking for those who would worship Him in spirit and in truth)

I was reading Joshua 24th chapter
God gave the people of Israel rest from all their enemies. In his farewell address, Joshua reminded the people of God's bountiful grace & mercy. He gave the Israelites command to help the avoid falling into most likely areas of temptation.
We must resist the temptation to sin and live in loving obedience to God.
Hold to His hand God's Unchanging Hand...build your hopes on things eternal... Hold to God's unchanging hand... I LOVE THAT HYMN! Do we find it hard to keep a grip on our day-to-day dependency on Christ? Or worse, have we lost our grip? When we feel we don't need to depend on Christ, we won't... Our natural tendency is to depend on self, not Christ. Depending on Christ is an act of the will by faith, not the natural reaction of our heart. God has the power to give us what we deserve, whether good or bad. I have come to fear, with reverence and awe, the God who is, for He is a consuming fire.
Have our abundant resources kept us form depending on God? have we lost our grip on God's help? Focus on a special need that only God can meet. Seek His help today and everyday...HOLD TO GOD'S UNCHANGING HAND!

At some point in our walk with Jesus, we start to wonder what His perfect Will is for our life, and we start searching and seeking to do it, because we truly love Him, and want to be pleasing to Him. I am still on this search, seeking to know the true and perfect Will of our Heavenly Father. With much prayer, and sometimes frustration and tears, I remain focused, Glory to God. And, in doing so, I have noticed that God has begun to remove things from my life that are not pleasing to Him. Certain music, and movies, tv shows, even friends, have had to be removed from my life. I began to look different from the rest of the world. I transformed, amen. This only happens when we truly pray that God's Will, not ours be done. We must also remain diligent in the reading of the Word, seeking to know, with a passion, what His Will is. Today, I want to encourage you to diligently seek out the scriptures, daily, and to continue to fight this good fight of faith. You do not do this for nothing, but because it is pleasing to God, and it is Glorifying to Him. May your day be filled with peace and may God make His Word as a hidden treasure, and put a burning passion in you, to search it out, and find it's wonderful truths better than diamonds or rubies. Jesus loves you, and so do I.
