Urban Waste first emerged as a hardcore/punk band from Astoria, Queens in 1981. The band played their first show in February 1982 at the A7 club in NYC’s Lower East Side. Urban Waste recorded their one and only 7” EP in the same year which included 8 songs on Mobstyle/Wasteland productions. Famous for their defiance of not conforming to society’s ways, the band played whenever and wherever they could in New York City. Urban Waste also went on an east coast tour in 1983. .... Urban Waste shared the stage with almost every NYHC band that came out of the 1982-1984 era which included Murphy’s Law, Agnostic Front, The Beastie Boys, The Mob, Kraut and Reagan Youth. At the height of the band’s success, Urban Waste broke up in 1984. .... The original lineup consisted of John Dancy, Billy Phillips, Johnny Waste and Freddie Watt. Freddie lasted a short time with the band, he was replaced by Andy Apathy. After Billy left, Kenny joined the group. In 2002, Urban Waste hit the stage with Zac Stough on Vocals and Tony Ricci on Bass. The reunion turned out to be a short lived fun experience. Six years later in 2008 the band united again. The current lineup is: Kenny Ahrens - Vocals, Johnny Waste - Guitar, John Dancy - Drums, Sonny Baron - Bass .... The band currently released a new album for 2010 and has plans for an upcoming U.S. tour. Thanks to everyone for your support, see you at the shows!!! -Johnny Waste -

New year could have been better as I buried my best friend yesterday. Get the Waste in Europe and talk to Dancy and Adam, I really need a copy of the 7" it's the last NY 7" I miss with HEART ATTACK.
