My name's Urb Scrunting and I've been writing songs for 5 years on issues I feel something about such as the rat race, inner peace, love, depression, community, the environment and London. I currently live near Finsbury Park having come via New South Wales, The Lake District, Lancaster and Bradford. I'm currently gigging around London venues with my band members, Rainer (drums), Matt (bass), Eve (sax) and Will (clarinet) with the occasional cameo appearence by The Knox on his Box.
A Big Thanks to William Strange for his fantastic Billy Bizarre photography and to Dan Reid for producing these tracks.
Drop me a message if you have any comments or you would like details of how to get hold of these tracks.
Please get in touch! Enjoy listening!

Hiya Matt! It was great meeting you @ Sing 4 Your Supper! I really enjoyed your set-you have a great Engliah voice! Musical greetings from sunny Portsmouth! God Bless, Tim.
Sounds good. I know I start training for my teaching position on the 6th and it will be ongoing for a few more months but hopefully we can work something out. the extra coin i make from taking those paid surveys online helps out alot tho; you should really do them too; i mean, hey, the extra money comes in handy, right? i guess you'll have to type the link into internet explorer or whatever, but here it is:

I prolly won't have anything going on that weekend so if nothing else, maybe I can get back to town for a few days then. If I can work it out, you'll have to meet 'em too. Talk to ya later buddy. Keep me updated!
YES! I do too, but I can't breathe, I can't sleep and my head is throbbing....I went to the Pharmacy last night and she hooked me up, so I hope with these meds I can get to feeling better. I am not coming in this afternoon to work. We might actually do that. Send a text my way and remind me, if you don't mind. I'd love to do that! We are SOOO loving our vacation time and love being around people too. the extra money we made from taking those paid surveys online helped out so much!! you should really do them too; i mean, hey, the extra money comes in handy, right? i guess you'll have to type the link into internet explorer or whatever, but here it is:

anyways, so, I will see you next Tuesday. Have a great day!
{03/04/09} - Needleandthread spring hop.. jamm bar, 261 brixton road, sw9 6lh.. 9pm till late.. £5 before 11pm, £6 after..
We be back.. arrh.. with a rather tasty gig..
The line up is likely to take the roof off Jamm with Speakers Corner Quartet at number one on the list. These guys have headlined the Jazz Cafe and opened for Herbie Hancock at the Royal Albert Hall, as well as working with some big names in hip hop.
In addition to this amazing headline, The Sound of Rum who are festival legends with lyricist Excentral Tempest at the helm, will also be on hand to build the vibes (Rob Da Bank is amongst there many fans). Plus Onyx Ashanti and Daisy Kelly Granger will add some serious funk and soul respectively.
In addition to the incredible live line up comes DJ support from the best around. DJ Snuff is a local hip hop legend, founder of first ‘Speakers Corner’ and then he English branch of the global hip hop movement ‘End of the Weak’. Another DJ who recently also re-launched a strand of a global network ‘Balkan Beats London’, DJ Malaka will be blending traditional folk from Eastern Europe with pounding dance music. Add Popcorn Charly and Drusus Germanicus to the line up and you have a funk fuelled, world eclectic vibe of top class music to take you into the early hours.
Hi Urb. If you get a spare minute, check out a new song I just made up called TJ's, about a burger bar in Leicester. Should be up your street. Kind regards, and have a great weekend, Mickmox
Thanks for the cool feedback on my songs. May be seeing Knox this afternoon, if my kid's chickenpox isn't really chickenpox, and am pleased you're up for me covering your song. It's a great melody you've cooked up. Have a good weekend, and look forward to hearing about your Hoxton project. Yours ever, Mickmox
Hey Urb, just dropped by to listen to your Sainsbury's Brixton Local song, which is strangely infectious. I am thinking of doing a cover, if you wouldn't mind. Also, I have just made up a new song called Doppelganger, so if you have a few spare mins, give it a quick listen. While Knox's folk club is presently off, and because radio 2 are flatly refusing to play it, you wont hear it anywhere else for the time. Take care man, Mickmox
coucou c'est Mathieu qui m'a dit de venir voir ton myspace.... i'm very glad to see what you do... i will live in england next year because i have to learn to speak english and i hope to see you on a concert! salut de l'auvergne maud
Urb will be playing at the FREE showcase55 on July 10th along with Dom Borer, Meme Love and Niki Stevens, but if you cant wait that long why not come down to this weeks gig on Thursday 26th
