URGRUND…an ancient, indomitable force knowing neither boundary nor peer, realised and unleashed through the medium of destructively heavy, war thrash, with roots in Old German Death, Black metal and the traditional metal style... Ideologically, Urgrund exalts heathen irreverence and defiance in all its forms: barbarism and the glorification of destruction/war (essential to rebirth and evolution)....Historic facts, AntiXtian-ism,heathenism,existence,philosophy, war/death,classic fire and brimstone,secret orders....The aggressive music blend with strong parts in subject matter is what moulded this band…Separating the band from oh so many concept groups that stagnate...
URGRUND was founded in 1998 by R.Bolthorn Scavenger with Necrovore....The demo recording "In Apocalyptic Ruins...A Rebirth" was released in 1998 and is no longer available, "WARLORE" 7" EP was recorded in July 1999 (Bleed Records, limited. to 200), (RHFiendsickness joins to handle second guitar and vocal parts).... "DRENCHED IN BLOOD" MCD was recorded/mixed June 2000 (French label SPIKEKULT Records, limited 500 copies), brings the first two years of Urgrund together, containing the four tracks from the 7" as well as a re-recording of "In Apocalyptic"... Urgrund rounded up 2000 with the recording of their debut full-length album, "The Graven Sign" (February 2002 on BAPHOMET RECORDS, taking both the raw, beserker aggression and anthemic war marches in one.... Live dates alongside some of Australia’s extreme acts served to reinforce Urgrund's reputation as one of the most destructive/heaviest bands....The "BATTLE SKIN 7" EP was produced 2003. for the now Irish Kult label INVICTUS, This features a Sodom cover, Ausgebombt…“UNCHANGEABLE FATE”, the second full-length is released in June 2005, and was recorded November/December 2004. This being another monumental effort of thrashin’ black/death inspired in yer fist metal, consisting of dark elements and war torn imagery/disaster...June 2007 the effort is was recorded...This being the 3rd full length Cd and released Oct 2007...This dark mastery entitled 'DISCIPLES OF SUPREMACY'...Volcano Departs after his last effort with 7" Ep "HEIRS TO THE GODLESS DAWN" which will be unleashed by German Label Iron Bonehead later in 2009...Matt Skitz joins to handle Thunder...Plans for International dates soon....Marching Onwards...

We are officially announcing that Mass Burial has booked album recordings in Production Avenue studios in Sydney, which will commence on 21st of December 2009.
The producer will be none less than Lachlan Mitchell, who earned world wide fame by producing internationally acclaimed masterpiece albums for Sydney industrial/death metal giants The Amenta and legendary Australian black metal pioneers Nazxul.
