The University of Rochester Midnight Ramblers All-Male A Cappella Group was formed in 1998 by Jonathan Huang in an effort to expand the boundaries of college a cappella. In their few years of existence, the Ramblers have kept extremely busy with concerts, school workshops, charity gigs, and hours of rehearsal. In 2005 they competed in the International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella where they made their way to the national finals at Lincoln Center and placed third overall. They have also gone on annual spring tours to different areas of the country, such as Florida, Southern California, and the Pacific Northwest, where they've performed in a variety of schools and street venues, and sang the national anthem for various professional sporting events (the Boston Red Sox, LA Clippers, and LA Lakers games). Last year, in the spring of 2007, the Ramblers went international with their unique brand of vocal entertainment, as they embarked on their first overseas tour to London, England, where they sang for Members of Parliament at the National Liberal Club as well as in London's famous Covent Garden and numerous pubs. In November 2007, they released their 7th full-length studio album, MANIFESTO! which will soon be available on their website along with the rest of their discography. This new album has already garnered critical acclaim, with tracks being featured on the BOCA 2008, Sing IV, Sing III, and Voices Only 2007 compilations. The Ramblers always put their all into live shows, giving their live shows a reputation for energy, enthusiasm and humor. They are always striving to have a great time, please their audiences, and sing their way to the next level of a cappella goodness.
