Writing lyrics and graffiti led me down the dark path into the music industry - no formal music training yo.
Started in Explanetary we released one EP In On The Deal (2000). Then joined The Herd and we released debut album (2001). Went on to second Herd album An Elefant Never Forgets (2003) before releasing my debut solo album Distant Sense of Random Menace in 2004. In 2005/06 The Herd released The Sun Never Sets.
My second album is called The Signal and was released in 2007. It's been nominated for a 2007 J Award as well as two AIR Awards and was shortlisted for the 2007 Australian Music Prize. It's since been released internationally by Motivo in Italy.
The Herd's fourth album Summerland was released in 2008 - entering the national Aust charts at number 7 and nominated for an ARIA. We won the 2008 AIR Award for Best Urban Album and we also took away the Best Independent Artist gong on the same night. In other 2008 news the reworking of the classic song From Little Things Big Things Grow that I put together with Richard Pike and Paul Kelly (amongst others) reached number 4 on the singles charts and raised almost $100k for Indigenous health and education programs.
In 2009, Urthboy finished his third album Spitshine - with the first tune from the record Hellsong being given away for free download. The second single Ready to Go drops on JULY 17 before the LP Spitshine is unleashed on August 14 2009.

It was an absolute pleasure watching yourself, Elgusto & Miss Jane Tyrrell perform at Stonefest on Saturday...actually that's probably an understatement, I had an absolute fab-farkin-fantastic time :-)
Urthy - you are a true born entertainer, I really dig your rappin and your intricate rhymes. Elgusto - what can I say, I don't know how you come up with your awesome beats, or where you find your samples, but it's genius. Miss Jane Tyrrell - you have one of the most soulful, beautiful sounding voices I have ever heard, it's great to hear a vocalist of your calibre blend in so perfectly well with hip-hop tunes.
I enjoy all-kinds of music, and for me, Elefant Traks defines what Aussie Hip-Hop is, and how it should be. It is a record label full of extremely talented musicians, and I hope it has a long & successful future ahead.

some of those beats are downright aggressive - got a neck ache from the head nod gotta say my fave has got to be the title track - absolutely looovn it - closely followed by shruggin (sweetest tune) & served.
