U.S. 51 Country is named after U.S. Highway 51, a North and South major highway, through West Tennessee. The music, news, weather, and information is designed to serve all the communities along this major thoroughfare. We believe most radio is too narrow in it's song selection. We work hard to know what our listeners would like, then play it within reason. You cannot please everyone... music tastes vary so much. You will find "Today's Country Music and the Classic Country songs" mixed in for variety sake. There are some classic rock songs that have a "country" or southern rock feel. We play those too. It's classic rock songs that almost everyone over the age of 20 that's into music, has heard at one time or another. There are a lot of great new country songs that are never heard on mainstream country radio. That's because the mainstream station shortens the list of songs they play. That makes that short list of songs play about every 2 to 3 hours. Our playlist is longer and our artist roster is more varied, allowing us to rotate a hot song around to play again after several hours. Try us, you may like the way we mix it up and the variety we play. Comments are always welcome... just give us a week, and you will probably be bored with the music mix of the other guys.
