Union Street Band (USB) represents the essence of all that speaks soul, enlightenment, ethnicity and funk.
The persistent desires of Union Street's bandleader, Eme Awa, to create a unique combination of musical and spiritual forces, germinated into a band that exemplifies social harmony with ethnic diversity. No other band, no other sound, no other… reflects the entire musical and social disparate as does USB. Creating a wild and brilliant fusion of Soul, Afro-beat, R&B, Hip-Hop, Reggae, and cutting edge Jazzy-poetry, the band creates a unity.
The unity comes through in their vibe and their sound, which draws even the most timid to be taken by the rhythm.
Union Street's live performance ability has made them more than worthy of sharing the stage with national artists such as Jeffrey Osborne, Nester Torres, Angela Bofill, and Najee, to name a few. The project often features independent artists in combined acts of poetry, rap, instrumental and vocal performances.
To witness a performance by Union Street, means to witness a remarkably diverse range of music... music delivered with such clarity, creativity and emotion.
