Useless Art Records (UAR) is an independent Australian record label founded by the same four business savvy party goers/throwers that bring you anything with the name Fans attached to it. You may ask yourself “how did I get here”? Well you probably used the Internet dummy! You may also ask yourself “what is The Fans Group”? Well the Fans Group is four friends who started off throwing kick ass parties around Brisbane under the name ‘Fans’, later (after many successful parties) moving onto running whole venues such as ‘The Clubhouse’ and ‘Cubbyhole’ and ending up with a record label ‘Useless Art Records’, artist management company ‘Useless Artist Management’ and an amazing design firm ‘Dooner Spesigns’. With our parties powers combined we are The Fans Group, and if it involves music we do it, and do it well.

Useless Art Records adheres to the same strictly followed principles of looseness, passion, fun, and world domination that underpin everything The Fans Group of companies ever does. We take both our own and other people’s enjoyment of what we do very, very (very) *very seriously. UAR is a boutique label, showcasing our personal taste and every project we undertake is done so with a sense of personal investment in the project’s success.

Useless Art Records provides the perfect vehicle for showcasing the bands we’ve come across on our adventures and feel need to be shared with the rest of the World. We sign Australian bands with an interest in bringing their music to the World stage and we go out into the rest of the World seeking amazing breaking international artists to bring back and share with Australia. We get tremendous satisfaction in knowing we help expose artists we love to other music lovers.

Useless Art Records seeks to achieve everything in close collaboration with its artists, sharing visions, aspirations, and the workload that goes with pursuing a dream. We provide creative and business input into the process of:

Our goal is to PARTNER with artists and management in a professionally fun working environment to develop artist profiles in Australia and abroad through tailored strategies, creative approaches to marketing and promotion, and the genuine passion that only comes with truly loving what we do.
