We were and are Jon Cecka, Billy Pitman, Woody Jackson, Mike "Soupy" Sessa and Big Mike Geier.
There were a couple other fellas that came and went. Scott Minor, who plays for Sparklehorse, and John Baus, who went on to become chef for President Clinton, world leaders and Washington D.C. luminaries.
Useless Playboys @ The Roxy L.A. Ca with the Rev. 1994
We came from Richmond Virginia. We were road kings. Hard riding, getting put up wet. Sweat soaked suits drying in the desert heat. Always stiff. And I mean stiff! School was in sesssion and many learnt well. Or got a big effin' F.
We recorded a 7" with Man's Ruin Records. Put us on the map. Frank Kozik was real good to us.
We also recorded an album, with Continental Records pickin' up the tab, we imploded before its release. Those guys were real good to us too.
Hey Gang: I just found this awesome clip of Cats and the Fiddle rockin' the joint with "Killin' Jive," a song we used to cover - http://youtube.com/watch?v=SEQ9Sz0UCl8
Such an incredible band, amazing music, totally wild performers.. some of my most potent memories from the mid-90s.... I'm really excited to see you here--thank you!
