ARG will be hosting its annual Walk to Fight AIDS on Saturday, October 11th from noon until 4:00 pm at Evansville's Garvin Park. Sponsors include: Insight Communications, Fifth Third Bank, Mead Johnson, Deaconess Hospital and many more! Please come join our fight to bring awareness to the prevalence of this disease in our community. Musical guests include Pieces of the Day. Call your friends, email your friends, post bullentins, form a team or go by yourself. Help AIDS Resource Group raise money and awareness for this worthy cause.

http://www. myspace. com/tsaprom 7th Annual GLBT Prom is Saturday, March 29!!!!!!!!!!!! The TSA Youth Group has selected Mardi Gras as the theme for the 7th Annual GLBT Prom, being held locally on Saturday night, March 29, from 7pm – 12 midnight at the Evansville Marriott on Highway 41. The largest GLBT prom ever is being planned! When the prom moved to the Marriott 2 years ago, 2/5 of the ballroom was utilized. Last year 3/5 of the ballroom was utilized, and this year the entire ballroom has been rented. A buffet of heavy appetizers will be served from 7—8pm, with dance music being provided from 7pm – midnight. As is done every year, a king, queen and an in-between will be elected by those in attendance. The cost of attendance will be $10 per person (students, youth and adults). All gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and straight-supportive allies are welcome and encouraged to attend! Off-duty deputies will be on duty again this year. Point Foundation offers scholarships to high-achieving LGBT students who demonstrate an interest in community service. Point particularly aims to alleviate the financial burden felt by students whose families have denied them support because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. In exchange for scholarships averaging $13,600, students meet high academic standards and complete a service project based in the LGBT community. Application deadline is March 1, 2008.
