The sound of a jackhammer at 1/20th speed, squeaky brakes on buses, local business jingles from the 80's, operas about world leaders, that happy growl a dog makes when playing with a new furry toy.
I grew up in the dry, sharp brightness of the southwest. It was dusty and wide, with bizarre flora and even stranger fauna (if it wasn't fast and muted-colored it was fluorescent and deadly). I spent a lot of time out in the sun, but the best time to be outside was at night. The skies never really went black. Just a bottomless navy blue smeared with glitter. I spent hours (and who knows how many tanks of gasoline) just driving with friends up and down the mountains, or just out into the desert as far as you could stand it, with the all the windows rolled down and that clean sweet air rushing over you. (Listen to "Little Fluffy Clouds" over and over on headphones, you'll get the idea). I've lived in New York for about 13 years now. And while it has it's own, special kind of magic, it's all new and modern magic. A man-made magic. Not that ancient, almost alien kind you find in places like Tucson. I think with my music, I want to take some of that old desert magic and breathe life into my man-made things.

this works are actually recorded in the nice tourist town Dresden where Jan lived for 4 years and on several places in germany/thuringia and denmark/sjaeland +++ Jan recorded all with an old 4-track, one old minidisc-recorder, two old guitars and some old pedals and a brand new notebook+++Enrico Wuttke aka Flim helped him out with some Fieldrecordings and beautiful Piano Pieces+++ new tracks are growing every day on his minidisc-walkman he records woods, highways/autobahnen, shopping centers, farms, children rooms, camping sites, rehearsel rooms and roofgardens ...etc and himself and his friends and familys+++ since spring 2007 he lives on a farm in thuringia, germany+++to be continued +++

Your welcome. But, to be honest, I like having people staying in my room. I love my room. I enjoy writing the witty letters that go along with them. Plus, I always feel that I have a special bond with my guests, subconsciously. And you were the best guests I've had thus far. Akila always leaves me a mess complete with surprises under the bed. But, on the other hand, he always leaves about 5 dollars in change on the floor. The affect is slightly muted because I know that he was too lazy to pick them up hahaha. You gotta love him. I'm pretty sure it was in better condition after you left than it was before you came hahaha.
