To all who came out to see us this season, thanks for your support!
U STREET CARAVAN, under the direction of Yillah, is a Middle Eastern dance company based in Washington, DC. Known as much for their cabaret as for their fusion – particularly their oriental hip hop blends – these unique dancers entertain and seduce, seamlessly uniting the past and present in homage to women everywhere.
Past appearances include Rakkasah East 2005 and 2006 in Somerset, New Jersey; American University; and the Jack Guidone Theatre, where they performed in a show with the legendary Delilah. The city selected U Street for the opening night of its citywide Dance DC Festival at the National Music Center in September 2007, a performance that charmed the audience and rocked the house. Their first full-repertoire revue in August 2007, titled FARASHAH, was a smashing success.
I know we all keep saying it, but I want to say it too: I'm so proud of us! Farashah was amazing!! Can't wait to relive bits of it again on the 28th. Go USC!!!
