Das Flüchtlingsprojekt Ute Bock wird vor allem durch private Spendengelder, Sponsoren und Preisgelder finanziert.
Durch ihren unermüdlichen Einsatz und ihr Engagement wurde Ute Bock bereits mehrfach ausgezeichnet: So erhielt das Flüchtlingsprojekt bereits den UNHCR-Flüchtlingspreis (2000), den Bruno Kreisky-Preis für Menschenrechte (2002), den Dr. Karl Renner-Preis (2003) sowie den Humanitätspreis des Roten Kreuzes im Jahr 2004. Seit 2000 ist sie Namenspatronin vom „Ute Bock-Preis für Zivilcourage“.

Die zahlreichen Benefizevents wie Bock auf Bier reloaded; Bock auf Kultur oder Bock Ma..s sollen dazu dienen, auf die schwierige Situation von Flüchtlingen aufmerksam zu machen.

The Non-Profit Association Ute Bock

From it’s beginning as a private initiative Ute Bock’s idea has grown into a society with numerous volunteers’ members and a few paid employees for example our civil servants. Its aim is to offer a wide ranging and free of charge services and support programs for refugees. Our project also builds on the cooperation with other NGOs and institutions from the welfare and educational system.

The refugee project of Ute Bock cares for refugees who are living in Vienna. The Non-Profit Association Ute Bock mainly takes care of those refugees who do not get any support or insurance from the Austrian Governmement.
Welfare services do not have the capacity to provide people with homes or other aid and generally cater to those already receiving support from the state (Grundversorgung).

Thus, The Non-Profit Association Ute Bock is the last place of refuge for many people and often the only alternative to homelessness. More than half of the people in the housing project belong to that group, among them many families with children from regions in conflict. Additionally, we offer legal and psychological advices, as well as computer and German classes which are free of charge.

Charity events, like Bock auf Bier reloaded; Bock auf Kultur or Bock Ma..s also helps to draw attention to the difficult situation of refugees.
