UZUL DUBSTEP/UZUL LIVE ACT/UZUL DUBSTEP/UZUL LIVE ACT
Uzul Maxi LP "UNDER PRESSURE" (Expressillon-FR) with SKREAM's Remix (Tempa-UK) Release September 7th!!!!! And a new live set DUB/DUB STEP
After years of work as samplers and electronic textures operator in the famous french live dub band Kaly Live Dub, Stephane Bernard aka Uzul decided to launch his own dub/indus live project. His influences varying from roots and old school dub to lo-fi, noise and the massive Indus electronic music from the likes of Techno Animal or Scorn - whom he shared a tour with - made his music a subtle mix of all kind of massive electronic musics. Being constantly watching for vibes traveling from other countries, he discovered dubstep and felt in love for its huge sound and sub-frequencies focus. His forthcoming 12" to be released on french electronic alien label Expressillon is sure to set some serious standards on the amazingly fast growing french dubstep scene.
UZUL PROD.
Uzul an electronic music programmer based in Lyon playing
with Kaly Live Dub for 10 years, and more recently with the psycho-junglist
duo Hybrid Sound System, recording restlessly in a lot of studios and playing every possible venue...
Stephane also known as a hyperactive experimenter named Uzul ; Since 2004, he's also devoting himself to the composition of
the album Travelling Whithout Moving. In the Uzul solo project he mixes styles and leaves free course to his envy of travelling as well as his attachment to traditional musics.
As human adventure remains linked to the artistic one, he quickly asks some musicians to come and play on his music. Tit'o, trip-hop-indus band Picore co-founder and guitarist was one of the first. Because his atmospheric guitar style works like a charm with heavy beats, Uzul purposed him to take part to a few songs, and finally to join him on stage. After that, their strange travelling music was joined by a rich live video creation by NicoTico (XLR project).
At this point, they were ready to give life to the actual formation of Uzul Prod.
Together, they enter some trip-hop universes where massive basses
meet oniric guitars and etno-psychedelic ambiences.
Their dub and hip hop rythm in the Scorn or Techno Animal way,
joins the traditionnal Middle-East instruments and sounds, from Asia to East Countries, as well as cold and noisy 80-90's guitars.
Travelling Whithout Moving is plenty of contributions;
with Dasha, Russian singer, or with Mc Razamike (Jigaboo, Marcel Bellucci Quartet...), as well as with Sopot, a dub formation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, or last but not least Mc Carbon Copies (Picore, Spade&Archer, Led Piperz...)
after a european tour with the american group, Dalëk, and another tour with Scorn(UK),
in September 2008, they make a collaboration with Dokhandeme Sound System for the Riddim Collision festival (Jarring Effects).
in November 2008 : Tour with KALYLIVEDUB (PIAS -FR) and SKREAM(TEMPA - UK)

UZUL PROD.

Emerging: Uzul

Not usually accustomed to hearing the words "France" and "dubstep" together in a coherent toss of a thought--they usually leave that up to the dark and dank UK kids/descendants of the Skream/Caspa/Hatcha phase--most of the countrymen of this new act who goes by Uzul would probably cry foul at the mere thought of a sub-bass track that shapes itself more akin to the soundsystems and selectors of the West Indian areas of London instead of Lyon. And it's not more Trouble than it is Bass (see that, we got jokes) with "Rumble Inna Station" and "Under Pressure", two 12" singles coming out via Dub Technic, that bring the sense of dark, tunneling low-end and sinister vibes rather than the "touch" of French electro as it sits atop its perch today. And, with news that "Rumble" comes b/w a B-side remix from Skream himself, walls will certainly be crumbling once it's all heard.

Excellent !
