These days it's just little old me.
We all grow up and move too far away.
Influences
So many, but most notable for one reason or another: Frank Zappa - JJ Cale - AC/DC - Paul Weller - Neil Young - Primus - Ozric Tentacles - Tom Waits - Trace Bundy - Seasick Steve - Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - Archie Bronson Outfit.
Sounds Like
Got no idea, it just comes out sounding like me. Not really aiming for anyone in particular - couldn't if I tried.
Comments and comparisons welcome - but let's keep it clean eh?
Now a solo purveyor of acoustic-welshboy-hertfordshire-bluesfolk, my origins were learning drums on pots and pans in the back garden. Eventully with a real drum kit I got busy as a drummer any lyricist in north Cardiff jammin' circles (blues, rock and metal - occasional reggae). Smokey rooms and good times. Uni in London. More jammin'. Picked up guitar.
Adverts in NME and auditions. Couple of indie studio sessions - good learning. Hooked up with long time bass playing compatriot Arnaud Robinet in band with no name. Then "Glasshopper" with Arnaud & Justin Silver. Did the London club circuit. Filled a vacant stool for the ambitious "Mnemonic" for a time to help out.
Teamed up with Arnaud again, met singer/guitarist etc Drew Englehutt and formed "Sesh" (briefly to include 2nd guitarist Fred from band with no name). Recorded a couple of EP's and an album 'Wide-eyed Flamingo' and played wherever and whenever we could - record deals eluded us but they were happy happy times with good friends and double vodkas.
As tends to happen, people's lives move on and Sesh found themselves iiving in 3 different countries. Jobs got more demanding. So I went on haitus and wrote songs at home. Got married. No time for bands these days. Found new musical identity. Missed thrill of the stage and all that goes with it. Hit the open mics with the acoustic to pay a new round of dues. Had a family. Getting good feedback on the tunes and live slots. Got virtual on myspace. Offers of returns and longer sets. Sanity in check. Always looking. Always learning.
Hey Vince - pleasure to meet you. I told you that i found you here'cause of your similar name with a buddy of mine whom i sought for on "myspam"... Well - i can tell you - i like him well, but i like your tunes better!
