Whats my Impression on friends

About me:

To Whom It May Concern...

I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult. I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of an 8 year old again. I want to go to McDonald's and think that it's a four star restaurant. I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and make ripples with rocks. I want to think M&Ms are better than money because you can eat them. I want to play dodge ball at recess and paint with watercolours in art. I want to lie under a big oak tree and run a lemonade stand with my friends on a hot summers day.

I want to return to a time when life was simple; when all you knew were colours, multiplication tables and nursery rhymes --- but that didn't bother you, because you didn't know what you didn't know, and you didn't care --- all you knew was to be happy because you were blissfully unaware of all the things that should make you worried or upset. I want to think the world is fair; that everyone is honest and good. I want to believe that anything is possible.

Somewhere in our youth we matured and learned too much. There are nuclear weapons, war, prejudice, and abused children. Lies, unhappy marriages, illness, pain and death. We live in a world where our companies uncaringly poison our water and our soil, and our children kill without a second thought. I know these challenges in life help us to mature and to grow, but I long for those days when I wasn't so aware. For the times when we all thought that everyone could live forever, because we didn't quite grasp the concept of death. Times when the worst thing in the world was if someone took the jump rope from you or picked you last for football. I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life and be overly excited by the little things again. I want to return to the days when children played hide-and-seek outside instead of being glued to a television, when video games were as harmless as PAC Man ... instead of spine-ripping, blood-splattering mind numbers like Mortal Combat, and when TV still had some shows that weren't about sex, killing and lies.

I remember being naive and thinking everyone was happy because I was. Afternoons were spent climbing trees and fences and riding my bike. I never worried about time, bills, or where I was going to find the money to fix my car. I used to wonder what I was going to do or be when I grew up, not worry about what I'll do if this doesn't work out. I want to live simply again. I don't want my day to consist of computer crashes, mountains of paperwork, depressing news, how to survive more days in the month than there is money in the bank to cover, doctor bills, gossip, illness, and loss of loved ones. I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind work, truth, justice, peace, dreams, the imagination, mankind, and in making castles in the sand.

So...... here's my cheque book and my car keys, my credit card bills and my investment policy statements. I am officially resigning from adulthood. And if you want to discuss this further, you'll have to catch me first, 'cause........>p>"Tag! You're IT!"

I don't do popularity contests.
Unless I know you personally,
or am a huge fan of your work,
I'm not going to add you to my friends list.

Can't cope with that fact?

Why you don't want to be a pagan!

  1. The books cost an arm and a leg, you don't pick them up in hotel rooms or hospital lockers.
  2. When you screw up, you pay big time. No easy out like please forgive me, I made a mistake. We don't have the luxury of blaming our mistakes on others.
  3. We have more bad things lurking in the dark. The other guys only have one.
  4. There is no road map to life, you have to figure it out yourself. You have to think, and learn, continuously, like forever!
  5. We do not get miracles, we have to roll up our sleeves to make things happen. That means hard work!
  6. All our worship is self-generated. It is not done by a designated official and fed to us.
  7. It's hard work, all the time. Not just one hour a week, on Sundays, while we review the fashions. It is a lifestyle, not a club.
  8. There is no social status in being ostracized, ridiculed, hated or harmed.
  9. Our healthy approach to sex, and our respect for women may be hazardous to your mental health.
  10. Consensus is that we are all going to Hell.

A note from me, sent to a new acquaintance:
I was raised in the military, constantly moving, constantly leaving a friend behind (until I was 12) and by the time my father retired I wasn't making a bunch of friends because I didn't want to be hurt when I or they had to move yet again. I didn't really start making friends again until I was 15, and each friend that I call so is cherished. I've told others, but as you are new to my acquaintance I'll fill you in. I have fought for my friends' honor, even their lives. I willingly risk much each time a friend needs help - driving out of my way to pick up friends who've suddenly lost the roof over their heads - given them a new roof until they can get their feet under them - against the wishes of my husband. I would give lottery winnings to a friend did they need it and I had it. My friends are my world, and I want them happy at all costs. And occasionally (more often now than it used to be) I find them willing to do the same for me.

One friend or a million, does not make a person fake - it makes them rich beyond counting - and the more people they can call friend, the richer.

Who I'd like to meet:

Johnny Depp, Robert Jordan, Robin Williams, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Jeff Dunham, Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan, Holy Marie Combs, Shannen Doherty, just to name a few in no distinct order...

And YOU!

A few people others should meet:
