Hi guys. I've been writing music for as long as I can remember. At the age of 5 or six I recall writing music on a pint sized organ at my grandmother's house. Since then, I can't stop writing songs.

Valerie Cox is a Texas singer/songwriter with a folky, blues influenced rock sound. Her driving acoustic guitar is the perfect base for her powerful, passionate vocals. Valerie wears her heart on her sleeve in each and every song. When you hear her, you know it doesn't get more real.
Inspired by artists such as the Indigo Girls, Heart and Melissa Etheridge, Valerie's music is raw, straight-forward power folk. Never light and fluffy, with Valerie's music, always expect a healthy serving of attitude.
Wow Valerie, thanks so much for having my Songwriter's Challenges page showing under your reverbnation page. I really appreciate it :) I've added your reverbnation link to my page as well. I'm slowly adding all the FAWMers or 5090ers as I go. If you'd rather have a different link up there, just let me know :)
Hi, Val! Thanks for checking out the new tunes. They're both from FAWM 08, actually. "Where I Am" is a co-write with Eric Agner. I wrote "Jealous of Beth" as a take-off on Beth Kille's FAWM song "Jealous of Jayme" - and then Hoopshank covered it for Rocktober! Hope you're doing great. Will catch up more soon!
Valerie Cox - Join us in congratulating record producer Kim Copeland for her work on the Rachel Williams album, Lonely At The Bottom. Check this great review by R.K. Oermann with Music Row Magazine on Rachel's current single, The Only Thing Harder Than Leaving.
"She has the goods. This creeps up on you with cat’s paws. The languid pace, echoing instruments, spacious production and her hushed, aching delivery are all immensely seductive. The lyric of leaving home is full of terrific details. And her falsetto leaps in the bridge are like little daggers to the heart. A mini masterpiece. This, by the way, is the third single in a row that I have raved about from this performer. "
