Wanting a band more his own, Peter Nyström started NEGRU VODA in late 1992, as a side-project to MEGAPTERA, where he would be free to follow through on all of his ideas without compromise. Heavily influenced by pioneering electronic and industrial acts like Test Department, S.P.K., Laibach, Cabaret Voltaire, The Klinik, Front 242, Controlled Bleeding and Severed Heads, The NEGRU VODA sound is based on strong rhythms and analog sounds, various eletronic gear and field recordings of various origin. It is by no means polished or refined, but rather throbbing raw lo-fi noise in all it's uncompromising glory.
Having worked for nearly 13 years at the steelworks in his hometown of Oxelösund, Peter is more than familiar with the REAL INDUSTRIAL NOISE of one of Scandinavias largest steelworks. Being brought up in cold war era in a small industrial town on the swedish east-coast, facing the Baltic sea and the Soviet bloc, also clearly left it's mark on his music. The abrasive northern environment and landscape serves yet as another inspiration source.
Other bands/projects that Peter has been involved in is cult act MEGAPTERA, where he the last years were the sole member. Others are KRISTOFFER NYSTRÖMS ORKESTER, INSTANT COLD COMMANDO, OBSCENE NOISE KORPORATION, NEGRU PVLSE, FISKEBÅTARNA, FIRST AID, STULNA GREKER 1326 and DDD(DoomsDayDead).
