Valdyr's Blurbs |
About me:

Theatrical technician/designer turned music promoter, I've been active in the glam/goth/industrial/synth rock genres since college. I currently run and own Radio-Active-Music.com, a promotion company and record label for bands in these genres. For more information about what we can do for your band, please check out our website or myspace profile.
Over the years, I've worked with such great companies as D1 Music Network (an indie label founded by Jay Gordon of Orgy and his fabulous father, Lou), Fluffy Starr (I maintained her website for 3 years and she's become a sister to me), and Electricult Records (The new Australian label founded by Manek of Dead Inside The Chrysalis with distro through MGM). I've recently taken over as Head of Promotions for Strangeland Records, a fabulous indie record store here in the DC metro that caters specifically to the electronic, industrial, metal, and punk genres; I'm the also Associate Promoter at Midnight - one of DC's hottest goth/industrial clubs (Saturday nights @ The Meeting Place). I occasionally DJ from time to time, and have spun at such clubs as BOUND, Midnight, Steppin' Out, and The Dawning.
Valdyr's Picks of the Week @ Strangeland Records
Each week or so, I update my picks in the listening station at SLR. So if you're looking for some new industrial music, this would be a good place to find what I've been really into lately.

I'm also a model, mainly working in the alternative / gothic realms, though anything artistic may spark my interest. I've been able to work with some really fabulous photographers in the area, including Larry Bradby, Charles Jay Pilzer (RIP), Jimmy Z of Luminous Impressions, Don Casavant of DAC Photography, Vincent Knaus, and Lynxkarma. If you're a legitimate photographer and interested in hiring me (I do limited TFP/TFCD), please read my FAQ above before contacting me. NOTE: I am currently on hiatus from modeling until further notice. You can also find my work on the following sites:

Some fun Valdyr facts
+ My name is stolen from a Star Trek book. Seriously, I'm a sci-fi geek. (And Klingons are awesome.)
+ Before I got into the entertainment industry, I first planned on being an archaeologist (I actually used to volunteer with a UVA dig team at Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest) and also an astronaut (I took a senior level Astrophysics class in college for fun - and aced it. Because quantum physics just makes sense to me.)
+ My favorite beer is Yeungling Lager. My favorite liquor is Bacardi Superior.
+ Snape is hot.
+ Quagmire is my favorite character, with Stewie as a close second.
+ Current hair color: hot pink, because I just can't get enough.
+ Top 5 albums of all time (thus far): Dead Inside The Chrysalis - The Humanoid Expansion Pack, Jimmie's Chicken Shack - Bring Your Own Stereo, Disown - Requiem of One, Celldweller - Celldweller, Plumb - Plumb.
+ Biggest fear: a metal fabrication factory.
+ When I'm not hanging lights or promoting bands, you'll more than likely find me crawling around in abandoned buildings, because I urbex like that, yo.
+ My boyfriend is hotter than your boyfriend. Also, he's the lead singer of dharmata 101:

I won Psyclon Nine's banner contest back during the summer of '06, so check them out:

Who I'd like to meet:
Awesome goth/industrial/etc. bands. Photographers. Promoters. DJs.
I DO NOT want to meet or date anyone through here. I'm generally a friendly person, but meeting people on the internet is just plain creepy. If you really wanna hang out, just show up at Midnight. I'm usually there.
I also do not work with bands who are NOT in the glam, goth, industrial, synth rock genres. I do support some local music out of those genres, but I don't need a lot of ads from bands who just see "music promoter" on the side of my profile. Do some research before you contact me, please. I think I pretty much lay it out there, eh?
