    Native of Havre-St-Pierre in Quebec, Canada, Valectra discovered her passion for music at the age of five. Backed by a solid training in classical and jazz music, Valectra quickly became an accomplished multitalented musician and artist. Not only is she a proficient piano player but also an accordionist, songwriter and a gifted vocalist. This Canadian singer is a natural performer on stage. Sparkling and sexy, her talent and contagious energy led her to tour on numerous live shows in Canada, United States, Europe and Asia, accompanying local, national and international recording artists such as Lhasa de Sela, Eric Lapointe, The Box and Dawn Tyler Watson to name a few. Valectra is often compared to legends in the styles of chill out, electro house, trip hop and lounge such as Gotan Project, Morcheeba, Saint-Germain, Daft Punk or Massive Attack. She borrowed from these influences to create her own brand, mixing any style from house music to downtempo. Her new CD "Following the sound" is a sure bet for music lovers around the world. In 2009, Valectra gave a remarkable live performance at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, which was acclaimed by both the public and critics.
