speaking voices, being lazy, sports, dumb pop culture crap, podcasting, rock with lots of vocal harmonies and architecture (well, the rock can have architecture, but that's not what I mean.)
Music
The Pursuit of Happiness and many of their friends (Memory Bank, Galore, National Anthem RIP, Jennifer Foster, Small Sins, Talladega, Robin Black, et al), Danny Michel, The Supers, The Feeling (they're the new Ben Folds Five...only they're British, they dress well, and there are actually five of them), and other stuff in other genres. Lately, very into mashups.
Movies
Not a big movie-goer. Some faves: Heathers, The Philadelphia Story. Last saw: Ratatouille. Favourite movie we described for the vision-impaired for work: American Psycho.
Television
Past: Sports Night, Young Ones, Danger Mouse, The Adventures of Pete & Pete. Present: Daily Show, Letterman, Family Guy, My Name Is Earl, Rick Mercer Report, Charlie Rose (via Audible). Favourite tv show we've described for vision-impaired for work: Prairie Giant: the Tommy Douglas Story.
Books
The Portable Dorothy Parker, The Game of Our Lives by Peter Gzowski, Have Not Been the Same: The CanRock Renaissance, Shampoo Planet and jPod by Douglas Coupland, Schulz and Peanuts by David Michaelis. Last Audibled When You Are Engulfed In Flames by David Sedaris.
Heroes
Mom & Dad, the Dalai Lama, Moe Berg, Karen Duffy, Charlie Rose. Radio heroes (I used to work in radio): Kid Leo, Steve Anthony and Chris Sheppard.
Valerie hasn't been here for a long time, and just remembered Rupert Murdoch owns this place, so she won't be back much. Posted at 8:52 PM Aug 19 view more
Born in Cleveland, raised in Kingsville, brainwashed by the insidious Canadian media and living in Toronto, where I make a podcast where you can listen to movies like audiobooks, another podcast about things that are kind of neat about Toronto and Canada (check the blog down there for the podcasts!) and a website about The Pursuit of Happiness. And I write sentences that are that long. Otherwise, I'm pretty anti-social, though no one seems to believe that.

Who I'd like to meet:
Good, smart people who aren't overly social; people who say nice things because they actually mean them and not just to be nice; people it feels like I've known much of my life. If you're a band using friend requests as advertising, don't bother with me. It will only make me dislike you.
Thanx again for throwin' the Giant into your podcast! I do have I-Tunes, I just gotta figure out this internet machine!haha That's a good story about PJ, he's still that way now, just more drunk(if that's possible!)! Cheers, Chris Iron fuckin'Giant
Hey Valerie, I miss you on the site ! :)
Haven't you been to any show these last weeks ?... I'm starving of all details about all of those !!!
And, I've added a little surprise lately at the bottom of the photos pages... :p
If you've got a minute to spare, come on by my MySpace and listen to a couple of my tunes...
If you LOVE em, feel free to pick one as your MySpace tune (click 'add' next to the song), put up a banner, rate a song, or even tell your friends! :-)
You can also come by my web site, JasonSilver.com and download lots more songs-- in fact you can hear the entire CD there.
Hey Val - our friend Peter visited this weekend and he played the "TPOH @ the Indies" video for me. That was cool, and I saw you posted it off your blog. Keep up the good work. Also, interesting to see you update your MySpace Profile.
Happy Birthday ! :p
Hey Valerie,
I saw Iron Giant for the first time at Halfiax POP Explosion. There's a clip of them at the Seahorse on one of our two HPX Crappy Cam Videos.

Hope you enjoy your European trip, you're lucky the weather is finer than usually this year...
And, I know, I owe you a reply :) Just lack of time these days... But it'll come !
Talk to you soon so.
In the meanwhile, be careful tonight... French wine is treacherous... (or, are you in UK now ?...).
In case I forget to post on Thursday, Happy Birthday!
Hey Valerie,
It's been a while... And I'm late to wish you the best for this new year, but I mean it.
Are you going to the show at the Rivoli on Valentine day ? Danny says it's sold out, but it's not actually, tickets are still on sale at Maplemusic !
If you ever make it, please post a review for us...
Hope to hear from you again one of these days :)
Jane.

Continue to work hard. You are the future.
Remember at the end of the day you have to be driven by principle and you've got to be driven by passion and your belief in what this country can be.
