Valet Parking is a four peice pop-punk band from Long Island New York. The band mixes elements of contemporary pop-rock with punk, hard rock, and emo to create a tight and accessible sound. Consisting of four members Matt Lagattuta (Vocals,Guitar), Nick Ohrnberger (Vocals/Guitar), Jerry Meehan (Bass/Vocals), Chris Capuano (Drums), they each bring their own muscial and personality elements to the band. Valet Parking was started in 2004 in Matt and Chris' freshmen year in highschool, along the way adding Nick and Jerry to complete the band and give them their unique, signature sound.
During the writing of the new EP, the band sat down and began to critique their older material and figure out ways to make it better. After reviewing their older songs, they decided to continue to write energetic songs, but to make the lyrics more personal and serious, but manage to keep them as catchy and memorable as possible. The band took the summer of 2008 to write the best possible songs they could. The band wrote about twelve songs, which was eventually narrowed down to seven (incuding the intro and outro). More than satisfied with the outcome, they felt they needed to give these songs the chance they deserve by entering a professional studio. With top-shelf producer Mike Watts (The Almost, As Cities Burn, As Tall As Lions) producing their new record which eventually ended up with the name "Blackout", it was sure to be a solid record. They released Blackout at the Vibe Lounge on January 18th, 2009 to a sold out crowd of 300 people. Ever since the release of the EP the bands popularity has been growing rapidly.
Valet Parking has played 100+ shows in the Tri State area and is not stopping anytime soon. The band tours whenever they can and is planing to play the whole east coast this summer; every state from Maine to Florida, booking it completely by themselves. The band will do whatever it takes to get recognized and to make this dream a reality.
