Life. Metal. Experience. Metal. Experimentation. Metal. Alcohol. Booze.
Of course all good music has had an effect on us...whether it be from the TOOL end of the spectrum or the Ella Fitzgerald side or anything in between; if it is good it has made an impact on us. Our collective musical collection is the most AND least metal library in existence... simultaneously.
Sounds Like
The far reaches, the peaks, valleys and back alleys of an introspective mind.
We also imagine that our sound resembles bands like A Perfect Circle, Killswitch Engage, and Sevendust gang-banging Metallica...but the first description is more poetic...or is it?
Validus is the proverbial prism that can show you the rainbow of colors making up the light that is human emotion. Juxtaposing their fun-loving and goofy attitude with the serious nature of their music, Validus hopes to carve their own nitch into the music, metal, rock, and party scenes.
Validus is made up of five guys (much like Voltron) whose passion for good music and good times brought them together and whose instant chemistry allowed their ambiguous taste of metal to shine forth.
Steadily gaining new fans, Validus loves the energy and fun of playing live shows and is always looking for the opportunities to do so. Playing with and opening for bigger names such as Egypt Central are considered tasty treats.
This is serious music made for anyone to love or to hate by a motley group whose enjoyment of life and music is hopefully evident to everyone they come across. That was a run-on sentence. This is Validus.

"I see tons of local bands, and this is by far my favorite local group. If you're a fan of Killswitch Engage then you will dig this group. Guitarists Nick and Andy complement each other, and with Kalvin on vocals the group is solid. There is a good diversity of rock tracks on this disc. If you are looking for a kick ass local metal band, Validus is your band!" ~ Jack Wich, Music Director for Gainesville's Rock 104
"Each member of this 5 piece ensemble portrays a certain characteristic familiar to the hard rock lifestyle, whether it be in the way that they look, their ridiculous characters on stage, or the hybrid style in which they play." ~ Dayna Copeland, Independent music reporter.
