About me:
I am a 4 year old, baby art festival at my daddy's house in Palm Valley, born in the summer of '04. It is an acre of land on Roscoe Blvd. in Ponte Vedra Beach, on the intracoastal side as well. Some of the past artistic mediums I've shown in the past have included pottery, tiki carvings, jewelry, graphic design, drawing, blown glass, and paintings(including oil, watercolor, reverse painting, etc.) Each time, my pops gets some good reggae/jam bands to come from other parts of the state to play for my guests. There has always been alcohol, mixers, and assorted beers for all the guests to enjoy. My dad is pretty demanding about that part. Recently, pops decided to bring in a food vendor so peeps can eat and hang all day. My old man let me set up this site to be able to tell all my friends when I will be let back out of the cellar to come and play again.
Who I'd like to meet:
This is some of my dads stuff. He is royalty in the Valley. One of two offspring from the Wallis clan. What. You want to talk some shit?
Personal Statement about the King of the Valley Trash art movement and potter, John Arthur Wallis...
“I have been doing art for as long as I can remember. I had the forced art classes in grade school and used to be able to draw anything that I saw almost exactly the same. But that was boring. Next, was carving wooden duck and dove decoys with my father out in his shed. Then came the real workspace, Allen D. Nease High School. It was there that I got into jewelry and metal smithing and got my first art award for a bracelet. I took a pottery class my sophomore year and wasn’t all that into it, but Kathy Skaggs(my first teacher) was and is the raddest female potter I know as well as super nice. But after developing a deep dislike for the jewelry teacher, I became fully involved in ceramics. After graduating in 2000(barely), I spent 2 years at UCF and realized that an art degree wasn’t in my future. The pots were still being thrown, but it was only when I had time to take a night class. But in 2001 was the real change that threw me into ceramics for life. My father passed fishing in Hawaii, just one week after I found out that my girlfriend was pregnant. After that, I spent a year looking at my life and what I wanted to do with it. After crawling out of my little funk, I got called out. I kept talking about remodeling my fathers wood shed into a pottery studio, and a girl friend said I should stop complaining about restaurant work and do the pottery thing. You probably won’t see this, but thank you Rebecca. You never realized it, but that call out changed my life. I bought a kiln, a wheel, some clay, a bunch of glaze materials and Valley Trash Pottery Studio was born. Since then, I have been steadily producing some of the most obscure and beautiful pots in the area. I have always kept my style of making as many different shapes as possible. Mostly being functional works-cups, bowls, vases, and pitchers, I still dive into sculpting every now and again. I have picked up a few awards in art shows since, as well as working for a short bit as the studio assistant in 2004 at FCCJ under Prof. Stephen Heywood. It was around then that I called a few artist friends and we all got together and the Valley Trash Art Festival birthed its ugly head at my house in Palm Valley. So there it is. My story.”

Personal statement about the Chris Reeves...
"I like to doodle, I like tropical things, bright colors are nice. I have a few associates that are carvers, I can't carve so I doodle. I'm trying to learn how to use paints. Its fun. Everybody should have a few hobbies. You know its said that if you knock a tiki over you won't get laid for seven years. I've knocked a few over in my day. I've had a couple of year length dry spells. Beleive what you want. but if you do knock one over I'd apologize with sincerity. You want these guys on your side. They run the show in Don Juans 2nd attention . . . really. How about a mai tai, that sounds nice."

We are great. Still living in Vail. I really like life in the mountains. We were actually thinking of you the other day drinking coffee in one of your mugs. Did you move the workshop and kiln west with you?
Hey hey! I think my kid will be a little Japanese, he or she will have a good story to tell anyway. Where do you live in Cali? I told ya we are trying to go there next year. Yes I do have a webcam but I don't use Skype. I use my Msn messenger or Stickam.
