Well, I make films off my own back, which means I write, storyboard, film, light, direct, produce, act (occasionally) and edit myself. Although I work with a friend who also does all this stuff.
It's the Directors job to make sure the actors know what's going on in a scene, and that they act it in a way that's convincing. It's largely about communication and judgement.
I'm an obsessive, low budget (very low budget) short film-maker, who aims to become an obsessive, higher budget, feature length film-maker. My favourite genre is horror (because it's so varied) or anything that has a Twilight Zone type twist or surrealism to it (IE. The Village, Donnie Darko, Solaris, Unbreakable, The Others, etc). I also love many other genres, from old Black and White classics, to costume dramas, to comedies and spoofs.
As well as film-making, I also love to paint surrealist and semi-abstract stuff in oils. Sadly most of my time is take up with script writing, editing, filming, making and finding props, etc, etc, so my artwork's a little neglected these days.
For work, I'm wanting to meet actors, camera people, set designers, other directors and producers who are as eager to make and be involved with the making of films, as I am. Ambition and drive are the most important thing.
From a relationship point of view, my current partner Purest Darkness is the girl I've waited all my life to meet.
Hi Phil, thanks for the gratuitous plug for my just-published anthology!
There's a macabre twist in store for vampire lovers in Mark Cantrell's first paperback anthology, Isolation Space. Some people might feel he’s rather made a meal of it, nevertheless, it’s not for those with a weak stomach when he introduces the gruesome world of a vampire slayer who boasts he ‘eats vampires for breakfast’.
If putting the bite back into the vampire isn’t enough to whet the appetite, there’s plenty more to Isolation Space. The anthology combines 20 short stories to paint a tapestry of the macabre and the horrific, the chilling and the heart-shocking, with some thought provoking works of a more satirical nature.
The result is a powerful amalgam of horror, science fiction and fantasy that will keep the pages turning. Isolation Space is available now from Lulu and Amazon, or ordered from good bookshops.

The significance of this ribbon like others that have been created, are to create the awareness to certain causes. Why should the paranormal and other unexplained activities be any different? PASC as well as other organizations, are there to help the general public and truly want to assist others find the answers they are looking for. The general public often believes that legitimate paranormal activity is all in their minds and can't be happening to them. All of the great causes today, started from someone asking the question, "Why me?"
That is what the ribbon stands for and what PASC hopes to answer. Your contribution and support of the ribbon and PASC's cause as a charitable organization, will continue to fund our research and the help that is offered to the general public.
