About me: The Vancouver Artist’s Collective Association is a network of talented local photographers, writers, artists, dancers, musicians, graphic designers, etc… Created in June 2006, VACA exists as a link between artists in the community, providing networking and contact information for artists of all mediums. Our aim is to establish a close relationship with other local artistic groups in order to unify Vancouver’s artistic talent and make that talent accessible both to other artists and to the community at large.
VACA encourages the development of its members, both creatively and professionally, and provides opportunities for mentorship between established members and burgeoning talent. We also aim to showcase our members’ work, and have created committees devoted to finding venues for our performances and exhibitions. VACA runs gigs most Sundays at The Backstage Lounge featuring local musicians, and is actively seeking additional venues for our performers throughout the city and surrounding areas.
