The Van Delecki's, who draw their name from an episode of The Andy Griffith Show, are a side project of the SpongeTones' Jamie Hoover and Let's Get Mikey's Bryan Shumate. The two released Letters from the Desk of Count S.Van Delecki on Permanent Press in 1996 with help from fellow Spongetones, Steve Stoeckel and Pat Walters as well as longtime friend Don Dixon. In the fall of 1999, the Van Delecki's returned with Ebum Shoobum Shoobum. ~ Chris Woodstra, All Music Guide

Jamie, get in touch next time you play in LA sir. Always loved to "go high" on one of my favs, "What's wrong with YoYo!" Great harmonies and jangles boys.
ive been listening to these albums alot. 'catfish moon' sounds lots like the james gang to me its awesome. i like all the songs plus the colorful painting on ebum shoobum. real pretty.
hi vandeleckis i got your records 'ebum shoobum' plus 'letters from the desk' at amazon. the musics great i treasure these. thanks for making all this great music. 'catfish moon' makes me think of early james gang stuff. or if bw stevenson wrote a song & james gang sang it i think itd sound just like 'catfish moon'. real pretty. it rules.
Just popping in to say "wow!" Van Delckis is delicious pop! "Diane" is powerful and punchy, and the lyrics are fantastic. Reminds me of Marshall Crenshaw backed by R.E.M.! "What Wrong . . " is bright, chimey and sounds like the great long lost cut from "Younger Than Yesterday." "I Love To Pretend" has all the earmarks of classic pop music. This bunch of songs is killer.
