jose vanders is a 19-year-old nutcase hailing from london, although currently residing in the dizzy heights of bristol. she would quite like a guitar for christmas so she can make music whilst sitting in bed.
reflecting upon the last year, her top three musical moments have been:
- recording on a steinway piano covered in fairy lights at abbey road in the middle of the night and eating all herbie hancock's leftover grapes
- playing a show in new york to a host of crying strangers after having a lengthy conversation with a very fat man about glittery belts
- and performing at the royal albert hall after secretly snogging her boyfriend in the cloakroom.
it's been a wonderful year.
she also made a new mini-album called 'literature lovers'. it was recorded with the help of many friends in a converted sheep barn. the piano on 'these times' took 86 takes to get right and jose contracted a deadly form of food poisoning during cello recording but we got there in the end. boy oh boy did we get there... if you fancy, you can click on the cover below to buy it!

i got the ep as a lovely surprise when i came home form uni :) but the last 3 songs wont upload to itunes :( they work as a cd i just cant put them on my ipod :( xxx
Literature Lovers is a triumphant journey through the whole spectrum of emotions and it felt like you were showing us your year Absolutely brilliant - best one yet!
My Mini-Album arrived today and I LOVE it :) The artwork is lush and I am overly impressed that iTunes got all the track information automatically haha. Unfortunately my weird talking iPod still pronounces your name 'Hose' but it also turns into a french woman's voice when I play anything by La Roux, so Apple's system is just bizarre anyway! lol.
