Doueiri noted: "Vanessa's music is very visual and inspiring, and most
of the visuals of the film were inspired by her songs".

producers in the dance/electronic music community including Danny
Tenaglia, David Morales, Mood II Swing, Olive, Jim Albert, Mother,

with writer and poet Erica Jong, was signed by Bob Krasnow for his
Krasnow Entertainment imprint on MCA Records and featured her
signature hits "Near The Black Forest" and "Sunday Afternoons";
followed by Slow to Burn, with the hugely successful
single "Two To Tango". After Krasnow ended his ties with MCA,
following a merger with Seagrams (and later, Viacom), Vanessa
self-released Plutonium Glow and Dear John Coltrane on
her own Daou Music label. In 2000, she followed with her most stunning
and personal collection to date, Make You Love, co-released by
EMI France. Billboard writes: "On her fourth solo album, [Vanessa
Daou] continues to follow the beat of her own drum, bucking the norm
for her own artistic integrity. Drawing from electronic, pop, and
jazz, Make You Love drips with romance, sensuality, and much
love".
