This is me with my band. The song is called I'm Not Tryin'
My Angel Eyes Tribute to Jeff Healey.
Vaness Alegassi /a-legacy/ is a 21-year-old multi faceted entertainer; she has the qualities of a pop star with a singer songwriter’s vulnerability. This genre-bending artist, reclassifies traditional Rock, Hip-Hop, R&B, and Soul, and morphs them into a new sound she calls “Riddim Rock”.
Although a classically trained pianist, Vaness has always gravitated towards the exciting and fresh sounds from her urban surroundings. From her very first piano lesson at age five her passion for music was evident. Vaness’ life long musical career path was inspired at the age of 10 while listening to Mariah Carey’s "Fantasy" album. Vaness' unique chameleonic style is a direct result of her parents listing to Classic Rock, her and her friends jamming to Hip Hop and R&B records, all while being the youngest member of an all black church choir. She continued her musical explorations while attending high school at Rosedale Heights School of the Performing Arts.
Shortly after graduation Vaness recorded her first demo, which landed in the hands of producer and Canadian Idol musical director, Orin Isaacs. He immediately recognized Vaness’ star potential and their creative relationship was established.
Vaness’ unwavering pursuit of musical excellence continued when she was accepted to the Jazz Music Program at Humber College. While attending Humber, Vaness networked with some of Toronto’s premiere up and coming musicians, some who are now members of her band.
Over the last year Orin Isaacs has put together a team that is committed to Vaness’ artistic development. Together they have crafted killer tracks like the socially conscious “Don’t Blame Jane” and “Driftwood” as well as urban club bangers like “Rewind and Come Again”. With hot records and an even hotter live show, Vaness by birthright alone will leave Alegassi.
This is me & Al performing "Beggin' For Change" at my 1st show.
