About me: "Vanessa Rising" is a short drama that was filmed in Madison, WI in July of 2007. It was produced by BrickHouse Pictures of Office Beast fame (www.officebeast.com), directed by e. E. Charlton-Trujillo, and produced and written by Rebekah Voss. -------------------------------------------------------
The film tells the story of Vanessa, a young woman tempted by suicide during her morning routine. It sends a message of hope to women and all people suffering from depression.----------------------------------------------
The film is currently in post-production, and it's producers have begun an aggressive campaign to raise the funds needed for 'Vanessa' to reach its targeted audience.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Voss Variety!, a benefit show to raise funds for the film, was recently held at Zombie Joe's Underground Theatre Group in North Hollywood. The weekend was a huge success! VR producers raised funds for film festival submissions, as well as generated interest with the screening of Aaron Michael Reilly's "The Making of Vanessa Rising."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After film festival submissions, the goal for "Vanessa" is distrubtion to mental health organizations, high school and college classrooms, and non-profits that educate and assist their communties with mental illness. With your support, this film can reach out to those suffering from depression, and provide some enlightenment to their friends and family.
Donations over $100 earn the donor an associate producer credit on the film, as well as a dvd copy of the final cut. Once production costs are covered, any extra money will be donated to the Charles E. Kubly Foundation in Milwaukee, WI.
Donations in any amount (even $5!!) are greatly appreciated, and will be used to make sure "Vanessa" gets out into the world!

Who I'd like to meet: Survivors of suicide, people with depression, mental health administrators, psychologists, therapists, high school counselors, college professors, donors, indie film lovers, you!
Vanessa Rising placed 2nd in the audience vote and will screen/compete again in October 2009 for Underneath Cincinnati's Best Of 2009!
Congrats to the Cast & Crew of Vanessa Rising for that incredibly long weekend and many thanks to Joe Feng whose work as a DP brought my vision to beauty. Before October, Vanessa Rising will screen next at the Athens International Film & Video Festival April 30th!
Rebekah - thanks for the friendship! What you have done with this film and what you are doing is wonderful! Depression is a serious disease, and alot of people do not understand it. Alot of people say people with depression are selfish, and people who actually commit suicide have done the most selfish act. I hate hearing that, as, it is a disease!!! People suffering from this disease do not think straight, and the last thing on their minds is whether or not they are being selfish!!! ANYWAY - kudos to you! We wish you all the success with this film...it's also great to see you are from our neck of the woods!!! PEACE AND LOVE - Circleswitch
Well gosh, thanks! A guy in New York named Barry Morgenstein did my headshots. They were super cheap too, so you've made me feel like quite the smart shopper.
Hey you! Biz cards came and they looks awesome! Also, pic CDs are done. Lemme know when you'll have time to pick them up. If there's artwork for them you can forward it in advance or bring it along next time. See ya~ -Aaron.
