Primal sonic abuse exhilaration vs. dream love ocean.
NIK NADZ AND JASON HARTMAN met each other in the midwestern city of Madison, WI in the summer of 2000. After discovering a common love for obscure underground rock music and a strong desire to travel…they joined forces and formed Vanishing Kids, forever changing their lives. VK has since moved all around the country and is currently based out of Portland, OR. Their sound is a collage of styles and influences drawing from post punk, shoegaze, psychedelic, soul, noise and metal. Heavily influenced by their heroes: Cocteau Twins, Voivod, Celebration, The Cure, and countless others, VK has still invented a style all their own. Over the years, they have cultivated a powerful live act from years of national touring and various powerhouse lineups. With a healthy catalogue of releases under their belt, each piece holds its own identity, while still retaining signature nuances. VK is fiercely dedicated to creating heartfelt music with unpretentious sincerity and vigor, genre bending, texture and artful complexity. Eight years and counting, the now married couple, Jason and Nikki are always evolving, discovering new ideas, and inspirations. BEN STOLLER (Hot Victory, Hell Candidates, Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers, GSF) on drums and the first bassist from their original lineup, ERIC HOLD (Enough Static, Kissing Meltdown). The most powerful lineup to date.
