Zespół powstał w 2004 roku. Początkowo tworzyli tylko utwory instrumentalne. Po bezowocnych poszukiwaniach wokalisty, swój ukryty talent wokalny odkrył gitarzysta – Marcin.

Główną siłą zespołu było, i nadal jest, tworzenie nieszablonowej muzyki. Ciężko dokładnie sklasyfikować muzykę jaką grają – ogólnie można to określić jako progresywny metal, ale biorąc pod uwagę różnorodność ich utworów, to określenie wydaje się niewystarczające.

Od czasu powstania muzyka zespołu przeszła dużą ewolucję. Można było usłyszeć coraz więcej muzycznego eklektyzmu. Vanity to zespół ciągle eksperymentujący z tworzywem dźwiękowym ,nie popadający w metalową ortodoksję. W utworach oprócz mocnego growlingu zaczęli wykorzystywać melodyjny śpiew Marcina i Daniela.

Sierpień 2008 roku był okresem przełomowym w historii zespołu. W ciągu zaledwie 8 dni intesywnych nagrań powstało ich pierwsze profesjonalnie zorganizowane demo. Zrealizowane w studiu DBX pod opieką Jacka Melnickiego, któremu należą się gratulacje za wysoką jakość nagrania. Następnie demo przeszło żmudny okres miksowania i masteringu. W końcu zespół mógł podzielić się swoją muzyką.

VANITY was formed in 2004. At first they were an instrumental band but after an unsuccessful search for a vocalist, Marcin revealed a hidden vocal talent.

At their first gig VANITY caused confusion among the local audience. One of the reasons was their very young age (frontman being just 14 year old!) but the question of age soon turned out to irrelevant. The main power of the band was, and still is, playing their own unconventional, unique music. It’s very difficult to classify their music – you could describe it as “progressive metal”, but when considering the diversity of their music this description seems both insufficient and inadequate.

Over the past 4 years VANITY have played many gigs and concerts in their home City – Siedlce. They have also competed in the MetalCave competition “Young blood” finishing in second place. Since the early days their music has evolved and you can hear much more musical eclecticism. VANITY is a band that constantly experiments with their musical sound, avoiding falling into any orthodox metal genre. Their songs, besides the strong growl, demonstrate the melodic vocals of both: Marcin and Daniel.

August 2008 was a milestone in the band’s history. After only 8 days of intensive recordings, their first professionally produced demo was released. It was recorded in DBX studios, under the sharp hearing of Jacek Melnicki, who deserves a gold medal for the exceptionally high sound quality. After the demo had undergone a strenuous process of mixing and mastering, finally VANITY could share their music. During the 3 month period after the demo was released over 12 thousand track plays were noted on their myspace page.

In 2009 Vanity is planning to promote their music by playing many gigs, all around Poland. Their long-term plan is to record a full length album and they continue to search for a record label. Their upcoming performance at ProgPower will be their first gig outside of Poland and will be an exclusive gig for the Dutch market.
