   About Vancouver Miniaturist Ensemble
The Vancouver Miniaturist Ensemble was formed in 2007 by a group of Vancouver musicians inspired by the work of the New York Miniaturist Ensemble. Our mandate is to perform works, whether ancient or modern, that consist of one hundred notes or less. Our repertoire includes newly composed works expressly intended to explore the miniature genre as well as previously existing works that fit within our parameters. Our inaugural concert in December was presented by Vancouver's Redshift Music.

Our Dec. 10th concert was a tremendous success, featuring a programme of no less than 35 works by composers from around the world:

REPERTOIRE

Vancouver Miniaturist Ensemble frequently collaborates with other instrumentalists, and therefore will also consider scores which include the following additional instruments: piano, clarinet/bass clarinet, vocalist, french horn, and additional percussion. Submitted scores typically should, however, adhere to the original quartet instrumentation (or any combination thereof).

Great to see you on myspace! I heard about your group from the Composers Forum and thought that I'd look you up. I love the idea of the 100 notes project and I'm glad to see more groups joining up with it -- I'm going to send along a <100 notes piece for your call later this week.

Best,
Matt
