Bill Ely, bass guitar & vocals
Bill started out
learning the piano at age nine then switched to playing drums, only to progress
to the bass at 16 and the guitar at 19. He has been in several Kansas City
bands to include Fortress, B.D. Mented, Stone Breeze, Hollow Pointe and Nowhere
Fast, just to name a few. Bill plays only Fender Bass through Hartke amplifiers
and speakers. His favorite bands are Tesla, Motley Crue, The Black Crowes, STP,
Boston, Bad Company, Guns N' Roses, Fleetwood Mac, Poison, and Led Zeppelin.
Leah Arp, vocals
Leah has loved
singing since she was a kid. She participated in the high school choir and then
her musical talents were used mainly in the recording studio, where she recorded
“hooks” and background vocals for various local artists. She is Terry’s eldest
daughter. Vantage Point is her first live band.
Crystal Gatewood, vocals
Crystal's passion for singing began at a very young age. She first sang professionally in the early '90's in the local country music opry scene. She enjoys & is influenced by many genres of music, and performs a variety of tunes from classic to modern Rock, CountryRock & Pop. Crystal says she has the most fun when her crowd is having fun & getting into the music. She is an All-American girl with a wild streak that will entertain you all night long!"
Steve Alsup, guitar
& vocals
Steve brings a wealth
of talent and experience spanning over 30 years. He has played in many bands
and groups including Rainbow Express, a USO group which toured in Vegas,
Atlantic City and overseas. You may also remember him in many local Kansas City
bands such as “Rock Solid” and “Hollow Pointe”. His extensive music styles
include rock, blues, jazz, and country.
Terry Wood, guitar &
guitar synthesizer
Terry has been playing guitar since the age of 14. Inspired early on by the likes of Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, B.B. King and Jimmy Page. Terry has played in several bands including “Network”, “Mission Blues” and “Airborne. He has recently expanded his focus to include guitar synthesizer, inspired by such guitarists as Pat Metheny, Rik Emmett, Phil Keaggy and Mark Knopfler.
Chris North, drums &
vocals
Chris has been playing drums since the age of 10. He started taking drum lessons at the age of 12 from Shane Proctor (Dennis Rodgers Studio). In high school he played in Marching, Concert, Jazz, and Golden Variety Band. Chris took drum solos to Mid America Music Association and received the title: "Top Junior Virtuoso". He was accepted for a full music scholarship to Southeast Louisiana State, but chose instead to join the US Navy. After 10 years Chris returned to KC, working as a roadie for London Drive. He got back into playing again with Rock Hound, Rocket Dog, and Legal Limit. Chris has also filled in for several local bands playing a variety of music from Jazz to Zappa.
