VanVelzen?
Singer / Pianist VanVelzen (1978) is a Dutch musician, and Hollands latest sensation! His suprisingly undutch début album contains 12 songs, both rock and pop. With his striking appearance and his strong voice there is nothing you can do but listen, VanVelzen is a born performer.
Nr1 Album
His first album, ‘Unwind’, hits the number one position on release in march 2007. And less than a year later it won a Gold Record for more than 30.000 sold albums. And within a year after that, it was also rewarded with a Platinum Record.
The preceding two hit singles, ‘Baby Get Higher’ and ‘Burn’ both went straight into the Top10. His third and fourth single, ‘Deep’ and ‘Shine a little Light’ got loads of attention and airplay. VanVelzens fifth single, ‘When Summer Ends’, was an instant hit. It is the title song to the successful movie ‘Zomerhitte’ (or 'Summerheat').
Award winning artist
After his début in September 2006 VanVelzen already won three awards. Radio 3FM Awards for ‘Best New Act’ and ‘Most Played Single’ (Baby Get Higher). And ‘Unwind’ was voted Best Album by viewers of TMF/MTV.
VanVelzen (and band) proved himself a heavyweight liveact thanks to his enthusiastic performance and stunning presentation all over the country. VanVelzens onstage act even got rewarded with the 3FM Award for Best Liveact 2008! That makes four...
Take Me In...
Between gigs such as supporting Kelly Clarkson, super stars Bon Jovi, a tour with German rockers Reamonn and a helicopter tour on Liberation Day, VanVelzen recorded new songs for his second (double)album: 'Take Me In & Hear Me Out'.
The up tempo 'Take Me In' came out in May. Both its singles 'On My Way' and 'LoveSong' got very much attention. With a full festivalsummer behind him VanVelzen released 'Other Side of Me', a down to earth song with just a voice, piano and cello. September saw the release of the second albumdisc 'Hear Me Out'.
Armin vs. VanVelzen
The nr. 1 DJ in the world fell in love with VanVelzen's voice and proposed a collaboration. The VanVelzen original 'Broken Tonight' was remixed by Armin van Buuren into a heavy trance song of which both artists are particulary proud.
