Pav and Jesus are unemployed. Jesus is thinkiong of resurecting his singing career and Pav is going back to his monastry.
The Variety Club Radford (Not to be confused in any way with the Variety Club of Great Britain) was a bawdy comedy club to be found deep in the pissed soaked streets of Nottingham at 69 Salisbury Street Radford Notts.
Every Sunday we had a comedy show presented by Pav and Jesus and comprising of an anarchic game of bingo, a visiting stand up comedian and a female stripper. The real stars of the show however are the audience.
The most famous visiting comedians to have worked at the Variety are undoubtedly the late great Bernard Manning who appeared twice at the club in the last six months before his death, and Frank Carson who appeared at the club in the late sixties or early seventies. We recently had the privelege of hosting Mick Miller another comic famous for his performances on "The comedians"
The funniest performer at the Variety Club in over forty years was Gordon Cragg. Knocked spots off 'em all.
