(site to be updated 06th February2008)
The future UK Beatbox Champion and their voicebox will have to compete in a series of one to one ‘8 Mile’ style contests to take the title. The good news is, existing champion Beardyman will be stepping down to play judge (having hogged the title for two consecutive years), meaning there will be a guaranteed new winner in 2008.
The competition kicks off with the heats taking place in four regions across the UK*. The cream of the British beatboxing crop will be battling it out in Nottingham, London, Leeds and Bristol throughout February. The vocal victors will then face-off in London’s Grand Final at Islington Carling Academy June 8th. The judges include some of the biggest names from the beatboxing community including Hobbit and Bellatrix!
If you think you’ve got what it takes, get those vocal chords revved up, head down to your closest heat and prove you’ve got the verbal virtuosity to become The Vauxhall UK Beatbox Champion 2008- and lets not forget, win yourself a brand new Corsa SXi which comes complete with air conditioning, Bluetooth technology (so you can use your mobile phone), metallic paint and meaty 17” alloys.

Starring the sultry Robert Pattinson of Twilight fame as artist Salvador Dali and heartthrob Javier Beltran as writer Federico Garcia-Lorca, Little Ashes is one of the year's most anticipated films.
In the midst of the repression and political unrest of pre-Spanish Civil War, eccentric artist Salvador Dali and renowned poet and revolutionary Federico Garcia Lorca find their artistic and sexual freedom. The two form a bond challenged by their fierce ambitions, their friends, the struggle between a love for Spain and a love for each other.

Set in an all-male school, the story follows Timothy who suffers the wrath of his homophobic classmates. He withdraws into his imagination where macho rugby players morph into dancing fairies decked in go-go boy attire. When asked to star in the school play he first balks at acting. As Timothy eventually embraces the mischievous character of Puck, he finds the secret to a magical pansy that seems to turn people gay! He then puckishly imposes a new reality by turning much of his narrow-minded town gay, beginning with the rugby-jock of his dreams.

Drama and divas and duct tape, oh my! Welcome to the world of Pageant, the exhilarating backstage documentary about the 34th Miss Gay America Pageant. Greeted by standing ovations at film festivals across the country (and winner of the coveted “Audience Award” in San Francisco, Miami and New York), Pageant follows five men as they compete to be Miss Gay America. As we get to know these men and their supportive families and friends, we come to appreciate the hard work and sacrifice that it takes to be one of the most fabulous female impersonators in the nation. Before long, the suspense, sparkle and surprise of the actual competition take over as we anxiously anticipate whose wig might finally cradle the tiara. Yet, amidst the astounding production numbers, astonishing physical transformations and antic costume changes, Pageant remains a simple, inspirational story of the beauty realized while pursuing one’s dreams.
