UPDATE: Vayizaku is officially on a temporary hiatus from playing live until the completion of its new full-length LP! Stay tuned for updates on the progress of the recording!!!
Borne from the ashes of a thousand broken dreams, Vayizaku released its first album in late 2006. And we're not talking about some fancy-lad 4-song demo or choir-boy EP. Oh no. We're talking about a monstrous, 42-minute, 13-track, epic LP (ingeniously titled, "It Begins") that is a force to be reckoned with. Just listen to what the critics said:
"The band name means 'to call out' in Hebrew, and that's what this CD does...The songs are catchy, the instrumentation crisp and crunchy, the recording top notch and the whole thing delivered with a conviction and joi de vivre that is infectious. The song writing is memorable, the lyrics articulate and the version of 'Solidarity Forever' is an inspired choice of cover.
"It's [Ocean] beautiful piano-laced instrumentations provide a sound that is hard to identify with anyone else. I can best describe it as Coldplay meets Green Day."
"I am never all that excited when I get a CD to listen to from a band that I never heard of, especially with the way the music scene is these days, but Vayizaku may have just opened my eyes. Finally, a band has come along that found a great sound and was able to put it down on an album. The catchy and bouncy guitar riffs on the opening track "You Know How I Roll" hooked me into this album and I was sold from there on out. The songs are catchy, fun, simple, three chord punk rock-n-roll with enough spunk to separate them out from the pack of all the negative garbage out there right now. Thank you for this album Vayizaku. It is refreshing to hear a new band understand that not everything has to be sad and heavy and that you can still make a great song or in this case an album with a pop base."
Speak on it! In support of the album, Vayizaku cranked out a sick video for the first track, "You Know How I Roll" (check it out above). And, if you can believe it, "Vayizaku- It Begins" is available for purchase on iTunes (yes, the REAL iTunes) and CDBaby (check them both out below). Also, be sure to visit Vayizaku's OFFICIAL website for exclusive content (click on the massive logo to go there).
I think you should take a break from hiatus and play the week of december 15-22nd so I can come hear you play live. Seriously... whats the holidays without live music??
