THREE PREVIEW TRACKS FROM 2ND ALBUM 'WHAT'S IT LIKE BEING YOU?'

1st Album Review:

"I've been listening to two albums which capture the mood of the season. Oxford's Veda Park have released a self-produced CD entitled The Last Green Space, which is full of mists and mellow fruitfulness. Driven by the rich tenor sax sound of John West and the vocals of Peter Madams, this is a laid back, jazzy affair. Madams' vocal style style reminds me of Al Stewart circa Year of the Cat, very cool and collected at times. While the music lulls you into a mellow mood, lyrically Veda Park can pull you up short with some clever wordplay. It never ceases to amaze me how many bands with different sonic styles are born and bred in Oxford - Veda Park join the ranks of the most interesting."

Tim Metclafe, Oxford Times

Gappy Tooth gig review, The Zodiac, Oxford

The room fills out in time for second act Veda Park, and a good job too as this is a band worth seeing.

Singer Peter Madams tells an imaginative story with vocals that are somewhere between Badly Drawn Boy, Nick Cave and The Streets. Saxophonist John West (once of Morph) adds Pink Floyd psychedelia to the mix, while the rhythm section (Pete Oliver and James Culling) adds a professional touch....

Veda Park are largely playing to the uninitiated tonight but manage to keep the attention for the entire 40-minute set. A triumph for a band that strives to play good songs well.

Jeremy Stern, BBC Oxford
