the truth is not always popular, but it is always right
I've been vegan since 2001. It was basically an overnight decision, with the two main influences being Moby and the PETA video "Meet Your Meat" that you have just watched above. The reason why I am vegan is to help stop senseless cruelty to animals which comes in many forms. You may say that it's impossible to avoid ALL animal products, and I agree that's true, but that doesn't mean that you aren't making a difference. Look at it this way, one day you might accidentally hit someone with your car while driving, just because that "could" happen doesn't mean you should just go out driving just to run people down. I know I have still consumed or used animal products, it was unintentional, either due to a product wrongly labeled vegan or I just didn't know (there are at least 10,000 different ingredients made from animals) but that doesn't mean I'll give up.
To me being vegan, doesn't mean that I'm constantly trying to prove that I don't eat animals, or my money will never go towards someone that will use it to somehow hurt animals. I'm not a vegan for the health reasons, or because it's "trendy" I'm doing it as my part in reducing animal cruelty. These days all people care about is themselves, and what they want. It's sad really.
Who I'd like to meet: vegans, vegetarians, and animal rights activists around the world that is all.
just fyi I don't "collect" friends. I get tons of friend requests everyday and I accept them all (except the spam) I don't think I'm better than anyone and I respond to all my mail because I'm not snobby. :-P I'll only delete you if you only have dumb anti veg comments or constantly spam my page.
Wow, that $1 down deal sounds unbelievable.. but paying for the rest of your life and the next generation and so on and so on... hmmm... guess it makes sense after all. Nothing's free, or there's no such thing as a great deal!
So, my niece ate vegan food yesterday, pretty much all day. We took her to a vegan restaurant for lunch and she didn't even know it was fake chicken. Yes, we told her and she still ate it. She passed on the vegan cheese for dinner though. (infact, I even passed on it. LOL I decided to eat my salad without the faux cheese.)
Hope you're enjoying the long weekend. You didn't have to work, did you?
yeah, he told me that i was out of practice too long, so he said that i have to sit through the whole thing...but i was thinking, "well...if you would have returned my phone calls then maybe i would not have been out of practice..." but i didn't say that, i was just nodding and being nice to him, so he can let me come back for free...
yeah haha, was terribly more complex than it shouldve been. And for my spark plugs, I can alternatively remove the radiator or something like that..... good times!
Anyway, good seein ya, hope we can all do something some time.
Hubby's niece arrives today from France for 5 weeks. Worried about what to feed her... not only might she go into culture shock... but mebbe vegan shock.
