Greyhound Adoption & Rescue of Las Vegas's Interests
General
Everyone who has ever owned a greyhound knows the myth that they are high-energy dogs. Here's proof...
Silly greyhound sure knows how to cheat!
Greyhound vs. Sports Car...
Here's a great video showing the truth behind greyhound racing. There's quite a bit of typos in the video and yet it's the content that matters. Great job Tim (http://myspace.com/timopod5)...
Greyhound Adoption & Rescue of Las Vegas's Details
Sadly, with racing greyhounds, there is no imagination required. That's why we're here! We are clearly opposed to
greyhound racing and the abuse and killing of thousands of greyhound dogs that
is inherent within the greyhound racing industry.
Greyhound racing in essence is the
systematic, bizarre and inhumane ritual of destroying thousands of greyhounds
each year in the name of entertainment.
We are active in the community to educate
Southern Nevadans about the cruelty of greyhound racing and primarily to find
loving homes for as many retired greyhounds as possible. We feel that Greyhounds
should once again be considered only as regal family companions -- not as racing
machines...relegated to a life of cages, muzzles and then slaughter, when
they are no longer profitable.
We are excited to now have a presence on MySpace.com so that we can network with other greyhound lovers, other adoption groups across the Internet, and maybe even educate those on the importance of saving a retired racing greyhound. If you live in the Las Vegas area and would be interested in adopting a racing greyhound or would like to learn more, visit our website at www.vegasgreyhoundrescue.com.
Who I'd like to meet:
We currently have a beautiful black greyhound girl up for adoption. If you live in the Las Vegas area and may be interested in adopting a young, recently retired ex-racer, please go to our website at www.vegasgreyhoundrescue.com for more information on Beauty.

I lost Drake friday to a kidney infection and failure. I had to put him down. Saddest day of my life. I had him 8 1/2 years and he was everything to me. his lil brother "toulouse" (behind him) doesnt understand why Drake isnt here and is still looking for him. Very Very sad days.
You can't change the world by taking in a greyhound, but you can change the world for that one greyhound.
A RESCUED GREYHOUND'S STORY.
Here in this house... I will never know the loneliness I hear in the barks of the other dogs 'out there'. I can sleep soundly, assured that when I wake, my needs will be met. I will never know hunger, or the fear of not knowing if I'll eat. I will not shiver in the cold, or grow weary from the heat. My fur will shine, and never be dirty or matted.
Here in this house... There will be an effort to communicate with me on my level. I will be talked to, and even if I don't understand, I can enjoy the warmth of the words. I will be given a name so that I may know who I am. My name will be used in joy, and I will love the sound of it!
Here in this house... I will never suffer for someone's anger, impatience, or stupidity. I will be taught all the things I need to know to be loved by all. If I do not learn my lessons well, they will look to my teacher for blame.
Here in this house... I can trust arms that hold and hands that touch... knowing that, no matter what they do, they do it for the good of me. If I am ill, I will be doctored. If scared, I will be calmed. If sad, I will be cheered.
Here in this house..... No matter what I look like, I will be considered beautiful and valuable. I will never be cast out because I am too old, too ill or not cute enough. My life is a responsibility...... not an afterthought. I will learn that humans can be kind and fair.

Greetings from NC! I volunteer with an adoption group myself. Thanks for the add and more importantly, thanks for helping these wonderful dogs find homes!
THANKS FOR THE REQUEST IM GLAD GREYHOUNDS ARE ADOPTED ALL AROUND THE WORLD; THEY RE GREAT DOGS.. I VOLUNTEER IN A RESCUE HOUSE FOR GREYHOUNDS HERE IN SPAIN.. ITS HORRIBLE HOW PEOPLE TREAT THEM IN VILLAGES.. SO THE RESCUE HOUSE PICK UP ABANDONNED DOGS IN VILLAGES, TAKE CARE OF THEM, AND THEN SEND THEM IN FRANCE AND COUNTRIES NEXT TO IT TO BE ADOPTED.. IT IS HARD TO MAKE SPANISH PEOPLE ADOPT THEM UNFORTUNATELY..
I just want to say that what you are doing for these dogs is truly amazing. I used to have an ex racer and I miss my puppy every day. So, keep up the great work and as soon as I have a chance I will adopt one or two more of these magnificent animals.
